Scrap pickup in Houston, Texas

Scrap guy near me

Two weathered air conditioner condensers and a coil of copper pipe on a concrete pad beside a metal-roof house.

Houston scrap is usually a machine that died in the heat, a remodel, or a pile left after somebody moved. Send photos and the ZIP. Matching is free for you. FindScrapGuy does not haul the metal, and a truck is not guaranteed.

What Houston loads usually are

The list is local. A scrap guy in the area still chooses the job.

  • Air conditioners. Window units and central condensers get replaced constantly. A unit on a pad in the side yard is a normal request.
  • Appliances after a move-out: washers, dryers, refrigerators, and stoves left in a garage or at the curb of a rental.
  • Remodel metal: copper pipe and wire, aluminum extrusions, and light steel from a kitchen, addition, or roof job.
  • Grills, mowers, and other yard equipment that is mostly metal.
  • Shop and light demolition steel. Beams, rebar, and a real contractor pile belong on the commercial scrap page, not in a driveway photo of one water heater.

Storm piles are not automatically scrap

After a flood or a hard storm, yards fill up with mixed debris. Drywall, carpet, furniture, and bags of trash are junk removal. A scrap guy wants the metal he can recycle. If you can separate the appliances and show them in photos, send those. If the pile is everything from the house, read scrap pickup versus junk removal first.

Houston is too big for one driveway

A load inside the Loop is not the same trip as Katy, Pearland, or The Woodlands. People write in from the Heights, the East End, Third Ward, Fifth Ward, Pasadena, Deer Park, Channelview, Baytown, Sugar Land, Spring, and those far suburbs. Put the ZIP on the form. A refinery or ship-channel contract is not a homeowner pickup. Say so if the load is commercial.

We do not publish a coverage map, and we do not invent a local crew. If nobody wants the load, we tell you. Start from scrap guy near me if you are outside these two write-ups. Detroit is the other city page: scrap pickup in Detroit.

SEND PHOTOS

Matching is free for you. Add your ZIP and a few clear photos. A scrap guy decides whether the load is worth the trip. We do not promise a truck.

Questions

Is matching free in Houston?

Yes. Sending photos does not cost you anything. FindScrapGuy does not charge a matching fee. A Houston-area scrap guy may pay for the metal, charge for the haul, or decline. We do not set that number.

Will someone take an old air conditioner?

Window units and outside condensers are some of the most common Houston requests. Many scrap guys want them. Send a photo of the unit and say whether it is still on a pad, in a closet, or already on the ground. We do not uninstall it.

Do you haul flood debris?

Not if it is drywall, furniture, and trash mixed together. That is junk removal. If the pile is appliances or other metal and you can show that in photos, send it. A scrap guy still may pass on muddy or contaminated metal.

Do you cover Katy, Pasadena, or The Woodlands?

People in Houston and in suburbs such as Katy, Sugar Land, Pearland, Pasadena, Spring, and The Woodlands can send a request. A ZIP is required because those are long drives from each other. We do not promise a hauler in every suburb.
